Living a Life of Adventure
All my life I have been the kind of girl that always plays it safe. I was always thinking about what is practical and how I can blend in and not draw attention to myself. My life was OK, but it was not full of risks or adventure. Over the past few months, I have been trying to experience more of life and not be so worried about what people think about me. I have done things that before I would have been afraid to do, even though it might be fun. Now, I will jump on the trampoline with friends (not with a full bladder though), go down big slides, be silly, and have fun. I have dyed my hair red, rode a ferris wheel (even though I am scared of heights), did bumper cars, and even tried a green smoothie. One really adventurous and non practical thing I did was when I got my new car. I did not get a responsible Mom car or grocery getter. I decided to live a little and do something daring. I got a chili red Mini Cooper S. This car has really brought out the wild, adventurous side of me that was always there begging to get out and feel the wind in her hair. The car is a symbol of the new change in me. I want to have fun and live a life of adventure. My friend once asked what I am passionate about and what my dreams are. I drew a complete blank. Now, I want to live life to the fullest, regardless of what others may think. I have been a big admirer of Amelia Earhart lately. She lived a life of adventure and didn't care that people said that she couldn't do things. She was adventurous, but still womanly. I know that when I am driving my Mini with the wind in my hair, I am definitely feeling like an adventurous woman. When it comes right down to it, I think that God would have me be an adventurous Christian woman for him. What could be more fun than feeling the wind in my hair with my Saviour right there with me?
"...decide...whether or not the goal is worth the risks involved. If it is, stop worrying...." -Amelia Earhart
